President Alipour Attends in ANOC Congress in Greece
President of Iran Federation of Sport Associations Mohammad Alipour attended in the 2021 ANOC congress in Greece. Alipour is also executive board member of Iran NOC and Iran National Olympic Committee president Reza Salehi Amiri also attended in ANOC congress. Peyman Fakhri and Farid Fatahian are other Iranian delegates during ANOC congress
President of International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach discussed the crisis in Afghanistan during a keynote speech on the opening day of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) General Assembly
Thousands of people based in Afghanistan have attempted to leave the country since the Taliban returned to power following the withdrawal of American troops.
Bach said the IOC had assisted with the evacuation of around 300 people from Afghanistan, praising the support offered by several NOCs.
He called for further assistance from NOCs, asking them to work with their Governments to provide humanitarian visas and support evacuations. |
